SOME RANDOM ONES

Its been one long bender since New Years with some wicked nights and some copius drinking. I've managed to stop smoking, but double my drink intake somehow...Anyway it started with Skream + Benga at The Hi Fi a days after New Years i thought this was gonna be completely dead. People have normally caned all their money or feel too messed up to go out so soon after NYE, BUT i was proved totally wrong. Never seen the Hi-Fi so rammed before, think there was around 900 people in there going fucking apeshit. Definitely a sick show! The rider got killed, dont know how i managed to even speak on the mic to be honest!

Then the first Wobble of the New Year. Instead of putting on internationals they've decided to focus more on locals this year and the first one definitely smashed it. Again the place was nicely packed and as is standard for Wobble everyone was having a good time, no attitude's or drama's.
Lots of sweaty ravers

Broken Tooth in attendance

Then the Wiley show a few days ago - or more to the point the lack of Wiley show! I as well as bare others had been looking fwd to this one for time and for it not to have happened was a major dissapointment. I know a lot of people have been slamming Wiley for the cancellation, but just to clear it up, he had legitimate reasons and some issues that i wont speak on prevented it happening. It had nothing to do with ticket sales as has been speculated...BUT anyway Skepta and Bless Beats really came through in the end. Even at around 4pm we were hoping the show would still happen, but when it became clear that it was not gonna be a goer we decided we had to sort something to salvage the night. Last minute calls managed to secure Laundry as a venue for the evening (big up Dan @ Laundry) and a team effort on SMS + facebook managed to spread the word that we were gonna put on something that evening. It turned out to be a fucking sick night and for me probably more fun than if the original show went ahead. Big ups to Cammo + Mexi for spinning the killer tunes beforehand. Mine and Scottys set seemed to go down well, i had a fucking ball anyway, at one point Skepta rushing on stage to pull the track up after one lyric haha

Skepta and Bless's set was real heavy. I think this situation gave the audience an opportunity to see grime how its meant to be without the polished chart type tunes. Skepta was rinsing thru his bars just spraying while Bless dropped some classics. Skepta, me, Scotty, Rhys and Murky Depths finished up the set going bar for bar with Bless dropping a few lyrics too. Then everyone went downstairs to the reggae room and tore that mic up too over the dancehall riddims. According to Haley over at http://mayorettes.com/blog/ i ended the night falling into the road singing 'you can do it'?!?! I also apparently called Scotty at around 4am asking him to 'save me' from a souvlaki spot 'cos i was lost haha

anyway, massive night, big ups everyone involved
