HEEEEEEELP!!!

We've just put out our new single, 'Cookout (M-Phazes rmx)', which has gone to radio earlier in the week. We've had our first Triple J spin a couple nights ago, but now gotta push it to get on regular rotation.

If you are able to, we would appreciate it a hell of a lot if you would be able to take a minute to request the song in one of the ways below...it takes no time at all and you can do it on-line costing you nothing! Of course, if you wanna do it every day for the next week or so i would be even more thankful : )

ALBUM LAUNCH PARTY

Wow, what a sick night! We've been building up to Friday's festivities for a few weeks now and we couldnt have reeally asked for a better night in the end, we had a mad time!
there was a such a good vibe at Miss Libs on Friday night, it seemed like everyone was on our side out to support us, so massive massive thanks to everyone who came down and made it what it was, the response was overwhelming! Talking about it with the others, its definitely our favourite show we've ever done. No attitudes, good vibes, lots of girls, last track stage invasion (hope you liked that new M-Phazes banger, had to draw for the reload!), donuts and lots of Agwa. Thanks to everyone who bought a t-shirt or album and huge thanks to all involved with the show: Baddums, Afficks, A13, Murky Depths, Diem, Mexi, Nathan, Wansicks...check some photo's below courtesy of Rosco, Crystal + Carley

Smashbrothers (Me, Scotty, Diem and Murky Depths) will be running the mic on Afficks and A13's set before Emalkay steps up...if you been before you know this will be big! Massive shouts to Baddums and Afficks for all their hard work on this night over the last 12 months.

DKTV WOBBLE TEASER

JULY 18 @ THE NIGHTOWL

REVIEW FROM CANBERRA TIMES

Another pretty sick review! Nice nice...click on it to enlarge and read properly

LAX WORLD TOUR

yeah so we blagged support for The Game's Melbourne show at Festival hall on August 7th. We've never been to Festival Hall let alone played at it but i hear its pretty nuts, like 4 thousand or something!? Should be a laugh, wonder how we'll go down with the sort of G'd up crowd i'm expecting...and the night after we're playing the 1st Birthday bash for Heavy Innit!! One year strong! No flyer yet and i wont divulge any line up stuff in case its not been release yet, but rest assured its gonna be a mucky one!

NO ACCOUNTING FOR TASTE...

Looks like Chipmunk is gonna hit top 10 this week with 'Diamond Rings' and already has a load of artists spamming their blogs with support. Seriously tho, why you supporting something thats just waste! Its just some bullshit made for the charts with no actual musical merit. Its all good getting commercial success on a level where the music's heavy still, but this aint good music! It seems like everyone scared to call it for what it is 'cos they all wanna hang off his nuts and maybe get a Mobo themselves one time...c'mon people, you aint really on this type of stuff really...I respect his work ethic and good on him if he makes p's, but i cant take this stuff seriously...i aint gonna support something just for the sake of it, i'll support good music, not just cos its homegrown.

1, 2, 3...

Wiley, Ghetts, Shifty and Devs come together on this one...nice idea, weeeaaaak beat tho! I'm a proper fan of Devs, but he really needs to lock his flow down a bit better at times and ease up on the rhyming words for the sake of it...he dont sound all that on this, neither does Ghetts to be honest. Wiley comes out on top no question and Shifty reps for the Mancs with a couple of big lines, but i dont care how many pull ups this got on Logan (too many thats what!)overall this was dissapointing.

Tune in tonight at 10pm on http://www.kissfm.com.au/ or 87.6 - 88.0fm where we're gonna be dropping some bars, but more importantly dropping the first play anywhere of the M-Phazes remix of 'Cookout' which will be out and about from next week, look out for the video very soooon!

PART 2...

Part 2 of Loco's video's documenting our shows while him and Felz are here. This one features footage from the Ghostface show with film of the man himself and M-Phazes set as well

TOOOOOOO MUCH!!!

Too Much is a relatively new night in melbourne run by Same-O and Fooishbar. I popped down last Saturday for their first one at the new Meercat Basement (formerly Deep 11) in Vic Market. Seriously this venue is militant! And with the addition of the Heartical Hi fi this event is serious! We're playing at the next one with Loco and we are going to FUCK IT UP!!!

ONE YEAR DEEP!!!

Totally slipped me by, but Friday just gone was a year to the day since this blog was started! Thanks to everyone who passes thru, long may it continue!

VOTE NINE HIGH

Somehow (how i dont know), we as Nine High have been shortlisted on the top Local Dj's list on the inthemix top 50!? Besides having no DJ talent other than wheel ups haha, we may as well try and win, so if you've got a couple spare minutes please go and drop us a vote. (search under local DJ's in VIC)
http://www.inthemix.com.au/50/2009/djlist/

WOBBLY WOBBLY

Me and Scotty have been a part of the hugely successful Wobble events now for over a year and they show no signs of slowing up! Each and every month is a packed crowd of skankers going off to heavyweight dubstep and jungle, its a pleasure to bless the mic each month. Well this month we got something special. Loco who is on DJ duties for ourselves while over here is gonna be dropping a DJ set at this months Wobble, so expect some madness and straight bangers! Peep his mixes elsewhere on the blog.

and while on the subject of Wobble, Cubist has just set up a Wobble site which you can check right here http://www.wobbleout.com

ANOTHER REVIEW FOR YA!!!

You can see the Nine High lads doing there thing on RRR via YouTube here, but being over Perth, i’d not had the pleasure of hearing/seeing Nine High outside of YouTube and RRR. Sure everyones saying this Album is going to be huge, but aren’t they all saying that about their albums? Well the truth be told, Nine High’s debut album is great. It doesn’t try to be anything it’s not, the simple album artwork tells you that straight away, it’s white and pure like the hip hop running through the veins of Fraksha, Scotty Hinds & Felony.

So the story goes Nine High have been doing there thing for many years now and finally after much pressure, they created an album. Then it sat ready for quite some time, while they waited to all be in the same place at the same time to release it. Apparently during this time everyones favourite, M-Phazes (good gracious!) managed to take some of the tracks from the album, turn them on their head and shake it upside down, other noteable producer to the album are Ghost Town, Jase, Drif & Lewis One. Whatever happened over all those years, it was worth it just so this album could be born in it’s current incarnation.

Theres some hot tunes on here and i’m topping my favourites at 3 tunes to keep things under control. The first stand out track from Nine High’s debut album is without a doubt Fugs Need Hugs, to open with that such a big tunes was risky, but it fit so perfectly, so simple, yet so good. Following up with Track 2, Jokers is definitely a favourite, sampling Chris Rock and touching on the most cliche of hip hop topics “fake people”, now while it’s cliche these guys pulled it off without the usual cockiness that comes with such a track. That leaves us with #3 and as easy as it’d be to just go in for Track 3 What You In It For? (another top track with a cliched topic choice), i’m going with Track 7 Bait. Once again the simple beat wins, the lyrics here are awesome though, basically it describes that person we all know and their words describe it best, “everybody does illegal things you make it obvious”. Finally if I was touching out to a #4 i’d go for What Bothers Me, this track deserves a mention for its lyrical content.

Head over to iTunes and grab Nine High now, or head over to MySpace, get aquainted with some tracks off the album and go order it from your favourite independant.
